Celebrity Trading Place is home to musicians, singers, writers, poets, actors and all who wish to promote the beauty of life.  This on-line store is a collaboration between Gramon Publishing Company, 72 Hours, and OT Productions. Grachan Moncur III, CEO of Gramon Publishing Co. and a trombone master, is truly a living legend.  He created some of the most brilliant post bop/free-bop jazz of the early 1960's.  Moncur played with Ray Charles as well as the famed Art Farmer-Benny Golson Jazztet.   He recorded two highly influential albums as a leader for Blue Note Records: Evolution with Jackie McLean and Lee Morgan, and Some Other Stuff with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Tony Williams. 

The return of Grachan Moncur III has been a very long time coming!

The Institute of Jazz Studies at Rutgers-Newark has a long term relationship with Grachan Moncur III.  They have been engaged in an ongoing oral history project documenting his career as one of the pioneer composers and instrumentalists in modern Jazz.

Tamam Moncur, is the leader of Spiritual Voices, as well as CEO of 72 Hours, a theatrical production Co. located in the tri-state area.  She is an educator, musician, writer, and poet. She studied piano and music theory from the age of 6-15 years old with Professor Dalang a graduate of the Paris Conservatory of Music in France.She is an accomplished pianist, composer and arranger having studied with the composer George Walker at Rutgers University in Newark.She has arranged for such notables as Archie Shepp, her husband Grachan Moncur III and in the 60's performed with Albert Ayler.She retired from the Newark Public School system after 25 years of teaching and is currently pursuing her masters at the International Institute of Restorative Practices and as of June 2014 recieved her Masters of Science in Restorative Practices. She is also on the planning committee for the House of Love Soup Kitchen located in Newark. She writes music and poetry and has put her compositions on CD's, as well as self published two booklets of poetry and a book entitled Diary of an Inner City Teacher. She loves God and all that which is good in life.

 

Kenya Moncur is CEO of OT Productions and a teacher in the Linden Public School System.

Toih Moncur-Co-founder of the House of Love Soup Kitchen located in Newark, NJ. 

  Toih was in the Newark public school system up until 8th Grade.  He attended St. Patrick’s High School in Elizabeth NJ from which he graduated.  He attended a trade school in Newark where he obtained a certificate in Computerized Accounting.  He also  attended Weichtor Real Estate School and a passed the New Jersey State Test in Real Estate and received his license.  The House of Love Soup Kitchen was founded on July 15, 2008 by Toih Moncur and Rev. Michael Harris.

The House of Love Soup Kitchen serves hot delicious meals to approximately 75-100 men, women, and children for two hours everyTuesday.
